Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a Cheghel account, posting a job, or applying to a job, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Cheghel.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Cheghel.
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when you register.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• One account per person. Employers may operate a separate company account in addition to a personal account.

3. What Cheghel Is

Cheghel is a two-sided job marketplace for Lebanon. We are not a party to the employment relationship between seekers and employers. We do not employ, vet, screen, endorse, or guarantee any employer, seeker, job listing, review, or application.

We provide the platform, payments for platform access, and related tools. Everything else — the employment relationship, pay, conditions, references, and work — is between you and the other party.

4. Content You Submit

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile data, CV, job descriptions, reviews, messages). By submitting content, you grant Cheghel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and process that content strictly for the purpose of operating the platform and delivering our services to you.

You represent and warrant that:

• The content is yours, or you have the right to submit it.
• The content is accurate and is not misleading or fraudulent.
• The content does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.

5. Reviews of Companies

• Only subscribed seekers who have had a genuine working relationship with the company may leave a review.
• Reviews must be truthful, in good faith, based on personal experience, and free of harassment, slurs, threats, or confidential information (salary details of other employees, trade secrets, client names, etc.).
• Reviewer identity is never disclosed publicly. It is permanently protected under Law 81/2018 and cannot be revealed to employers, other users, or Cheghel moderators through the UI.
• We may remove reviews that violate these rules. Employers have a right of reply via the platform.

6. Employer Responsibilities

• Every job post must be for a real, currently funded position.
• Salary is mandatory on every listing. Ghost jobs are a breach of these Terms and a ground for immediate removal.
• You must not filter candidates by religion, sect, political affiliation, or any protected characteristic. Religion filters are hard-blocked by the platform and logged as compliance events.
• You must not contact candidates for any purpose other than the role you posted.
• Verification badges are granted only after admin review of documentation. Misrepresenting your company is a ground for termination.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post misleading, fraudulent, or duplicate listings.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from Cheghel without written permission.
• Attempt to unmask anonymous reviewers or pressure seekers to identify themselves.
• Use automated tools to create accounts, apply to jobs, or post reviews.
• Circumvent the information wall (company names, salaries) or the payment gates.
• Upload malware, run exploits, or probe the platform for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure process.
• Impersonate another person or company.
• Send unsolicited commercial communications through Cheghel messaging, WhatsApp, or email channels.

8. Fees and Payments

• Employers pay $10 per listing per week via Tap Payments or Whish Money. Listings are in draft status until payment is confirmed.
• Seekers may subscribe to Cheghel Plus at $2.99/month, or one of the longer packages ($7.99 / 3 months, $14.99 / 6 months, $24.99 / 12 months). All prices in USD.
• Cheghel Pro for employers is a $50/month recurring subscription on top of listing fees.
• Featured listing boosts are $25 per listing per week, purchased à la carte.
• Subscription features are delivered month by month with no rollover. Unused months do not carry over.
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Payments are handled by Tap Payments and Whish Money; we never see or store your full card or wallet credentials.

9. Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You remain entitled to paid features until that period ends.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, submit fraudulent content, abuse other users, or use the platform in a way that threatens its integrity. You can close your account at any time at /data-request.

11. AI Features

Cheghel uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to rank applicants, extract data from CVs, and answer HR queries. AI output is advisory only. Employers remain responsible for their hiring decisions. Religion-based HR queries are blocked by the platform and cannot be executed.

We do not send your data to AI providers for model training. See the Privacy Policy for details.

12. Disclaimers

Cheghel is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that you will find a job, that you will find a qualified candidate, that listings will produce applicants, or that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Lebanese law, Cheghel's total liability to you for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the fees you paid to Cheghel in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or loss-of-profits damages.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Cheghel harmless from any claim or demand arising out of content you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the platform.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Beirut, Lebanon, unless a mandatory consumer protection rule in your jurisdiction gives you a different forum.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If the changes are material, we notify you by email and an in-app banner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Cheghel after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
